Fort Bend EEA attends District 9 Spring Conference
Recently, members of the Fort Bend EEA (Extension Education Association) attended the District 9 Spring Conference held in Harris County at the Golden Acres Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas. Those attending were delegates Kathleen Herold, Rose Jaynes, and Erna Thielemann and members Cinda DeBons, Cathy Hanzik, and Carol Gubbels. The theme was “Spring into TEEA”. There was a business meeting where Cathy Hanzik was elected to serve as State Education Chair for 2014 – 2016.
An educational program titled “Net Etiquette” was presented by Barbara Evans, FCS Agent, Jefferson County AgriLife Extension Service. This program addressed answering and sending emails. Some of the points from the presentation were to be nice, be brief, and answer emails promptly, even if you have to say that you received it but need more time to respond fully.

Fort Bend EEA is very proud to have their county winner be the recipient of the $1,000 District 9 TEEA 4-H Scholarship. Bethany plans to attend WCJC in the fall for a dental hygiene degree and then on to UT Dental School in Houston to become a dentist..
