Oyster Creek Rotary Club’s Annual Crawfish Festival set for Saturday, May 3
With the mudbugs being scooped up and boiled for the juicy goodness, the Oyster Creek Rotary Club invites the area community to join together over a plate of crawfish, potatoes, and corn at their 34th annual Crawfish Festival! The crawfish is only part of the fun as there will be a children’s play area, a live and silent auction, the famous reverse raffle, and the ping-pong ball draw from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3 at the Stafford Centre (10505 Cash Road in Stafford).
This annual fundraiser assists the Oyster Creek Rotary Club with providing community support to the greater Missouri City-Stafford area through funds and volunteer hours during the past 35 years. By raising and providing funds for literacy programs with Imagination Library and the Literacy Council of Ft. Bend to helping those dealing with autism by partnering with Hope For Three, the Oyster Creek Rotary Club is working to improve the quality of life for those in the Ft. Bend community.
The Oyster Creek Rotary Club’s most recent major project is the development of the archery range with the Ft. Bend YMCA’s Camp Cloud, which they leveraged grant funds and funds raised at the 2013 Crawfish Festival to build the range for the youth of Ft. Bend County.
Raffle tickets for an opportunity to win a $5,000 travel voucher, $3,000 travel voucher, or a $2,000 travel voucher can be purchased for $100 and includes two meal tickets for a crawfish, catfish, or combination dinner. Dinner tickets are $20 from either an Oyster Creek Rotary Club member in advance, at the door, or online at www.oystercreekrotary.org.
