Missouri City to celebrate Public Service Recognition Week
All non-emergency City Hall Offices will be closed on Wednesday, May 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Friday, May 9, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in honor of Public Service Recognition Week.
This includes: • City Hall Front Lobby • Inspections & Permits • Municipal Court.
The Missouri City offices will reopen for regular business hours at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7 and 8 a.m. on Monday, May 12.
Residents who have questions about City services and programs should call 281.403.8500 and leave a voicemail message. Residents and businesses with questions about inspections and permits should call 281.403.8600 and leave a message. City Staff will promptly return all calls when offices reopen. For emergencies, please call 281.403.8700.
This year, PSRW is May 4-10, and Missouri City is hosting some activities to honor its public service employees and their pride, professionalism and commitment to service. Highlights on the 2014 agenda include:
• City Council Members will issue a Proclamation honoring public service employees at their Monday, May 5 Regular Meeting at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers.
• The annual “Employee Service Award Luncheon” will be on Wednesday, May 7
• Employees will enjoy an “Ice Cream Social” on Thursday, May 8
• Staff will participate in a “Barbecue Cook-Off and Dessert Bake-Off” on Friday, May 9
Nationwide, the week provides government agencies an opportunity to showcase the tireless efforts of public employees. In the “Show Me City”, City Council and senior management want Staff to know their dedication to duty and diligence is valued.
