Second Mile Mission Center raises $160,000 at 10th Annual Banquet & Silent Auction
Churches, community groups and other supporters raised $160,000 at Second Mile Mission Center’s 10th annual banquet and silent auction held Friday, April 11, at Safari Texas Ranch. Funds will provide food, clothing, health care, educational outreach and more to children, adults and seniors all over Fort Bend County.
“With 55 families a day seeking help, this support opens the door for them to get food and so much more as we build personal relationships,” said Sarah White, Second Mile’s Executive Director. “We couldn’t do this work without the community’s generous support.”
The banquet theme was “Renew,” and featured remarks from Jimmy Dorrell, Executive Director of Mission Waco/Mission World and pastor of Church Under the Bridge.
The annual dinner and silent auction event raises operating funds for Second Mile. Sugar Creek Baptist Church served as presenting sponsor, while churches, businesses, organizations and individuals throughout Fort Bend County provided sponsorships and donations to the silent auction.
