Missouri City to host 2nd Annual Doubles Tennis Tournament

Missouri City is set to serve up its 2nd Annual Doubles Tennis Tournament on May 24 and May 25 at the Recreation & Tennis Center, 2701 Cypress Point Dr.

Matches will begin at 8 a.m. each day, entry is $30 per person and players will be provided lunch on the first day of play. Individuals interested in participating may visit the City website: or register at and use the USTA tournament ID# 800043114. Entries for the tournament close Sunday, May 18, at 9 p.m.

All draws, match schedules, notes and updates will be posted on the tournament website. The tournament, which is sponsored by Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP and Republic Services, will feature matches with the best of 2 sets, no add, and 12 point tiebreak at 6-all. The third set will be a 10-point match tie break.

“We have a great tennis program and are excited about showcasing our first-class amenity and hosting the City’s second annual doubles tournament,” said Tennis Director Thomas Daniels, who has more than 15 years’ coaching experience and is a graduate of the nationally respected recreation management program at Tyler Junior College.
