The YMCAs of Fort Bend County, which includes the Fort Bend, Katy and TW Davis YMCAs, recently held its 8th Annual Spring Golf Classic and Auction, sponsored by Fort Bend Toyota and Sterling McCall Lexus, on Monday, March 24. Over 125 golfers participated in the event held at Pecan Grove Country Club in Richmond, which netted the YMCA almost $51,000 for its annual fundraising campaign.

Immediately following the tournament, a dinner and auction was held at the country club. The auction, led by guest auctioneer James Patterson, brought in over $6,000 for the YMCA’s Annual Campaign. The high bidder of the night was Judge Robert Hebert for his winning bid on the “I Love Houston Sports” Package. “We continue to be blessed by the generosity of the Fort Bend community in support of our efforts to make sure that the Y is available to all”, stated Bill Myers, YMCA Golf Committee Chair.

The dinner event also recognized the teams with the best low gross and low net scores of the tournament. The first place team with a low gross score of 58 was the team of Mike O’Connell, Judge Robert Hebert, Jeff Haley and Dr. Jim Condrey. The first place team in the low-net category went to the team of Ray Aguilar, R. Casanovacha, A. Clarkson and J. Alexandria. Other winners included the longest drive competition champions, Melanie Ellis and Scott Wiley. The closest to the pin winner was Gary Beavers. The pre-event putting contest was won by J. B. Garcia.
