2nd Annual Pink in the Park with Sugar Land Skeeters is May 23
Join Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital and the Sugar Land Skeeters for this year’s ‘Pink in the Park’ Pink Out Game in support of breast cancer awareness on Friday, May 23, 2014.
Breast cancer survivors, Irma Klink, and her daughter, Sasha Klein, owners of Cure and Company, will throw out the first pitch. With Sasha as the fourth person in their family to battle breast cancer, they were motivated to open a boutique catering to cancer patients. The two women have dedicated their lives to supporting and mentoring others fighting cancer.
During Pink in the Park, all registered breast cancer survivors in attendance will receive on-field recognition during a pre-game ceremony. Already more than 80 survivors have registered and the goal is at least 100.
In order to “Pink Out” constellation field, all attendees are asked to join the players and survivors in wearing pink. During the game, an auction of Sugar Land Skeeters’ commemorative pink jerseys and Pinot Palette Pink Ribbon art by the players will take place. All proceeds benefit the comprehensive Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Breast Care Center.
Taking place at Constellation Field at 1 Stadium Drive in Sugar Land, the pre-game ceremony starts at 6:15 p.m. with the first pitch at 7:05 p.m. To register a survivor or submit a survival story, visit www.memorialhermann.org/sugar-land-pink-in-the-park/. Tickets are available at sugarlandskeeters.com.
