MD Anderson in Sugar Land celebrates Cancer Survivorship Week May 31-June 6
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Sugar Land invites the community, regardless of where they receive treatment, to participate in the following activities in recognition of survivorship week:
Saturday, May 31
9:30 a.m. Riders for the Cure – Ride for Life 2014
This police-escorted motorcycle ride starts and ends at Stubbs Harley-Davidson on Telephone Road, Houston. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. and the ride begins at 10:30 a.m. The cost is $30 per rider, which includes lunch and a pin. For more information and to register: www.rideforthecure.org.
Tuesday, June 3
11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Managing the Stress of Survivorship
This educational forum, hosted by Anderson Network’s PIKNIC (Partners In Knowledge, News In Cancer), offers survivors, as well as their families and friends, practical information on coping with issues that arise after treatment ends. A pre-recorded podcast will be broadcasted at MD Anderson in Sugar Land, 1327 Lake Pointe Parkway, in the first floor conference room. A live Q&A session will follow. 7-10 p.m. Anderson Network’s Day Away to Houston Astros game

6-9 p.m. The Art of Survivorship – Houston Playback Theater
