Missouri City officer critically injured after falling off bridge

Officer Kenneth Lewis was out on a traffic stop along State Highway 6 near Knight’s Court when he went over the bridge plunging some 30 feet to the ground.

It was right around midnight Friday morning when Lewis was knocked from the bridge.

According to authorities Christie Biggers was traveling along State 6S when she hit the Missouri City police car stopped on a traffic violator.  The impact of Biggers’ car knocked the police car into the violator’s car, causing Officer Lewis to fall from the bridge. .

Officer Lewis was taken by Life Flight to Hermann Memorial in Houston where he is recovering from extensive injuries. The traffic violator was also taken to the hospital by ambulance.  Christie Biggers, a FBISD educator,  was arrested and charged with intoxicated assault.

The Sugar Land police department is worked the accident.
