At Constellation Field, Fort Bend recognizes high school graduating seniors enlisting in the armed forces.

In a show for love of country and those protecting freedom, life and liberty, Fort Bend residents’ enthusiastic participation in annual Memorial Day observances is what is so patriotic about living here. There was a Memorial Day service honoring and saluting military fallen heroes at Sugar Land Memorial Park this Monday with an impressive color guard of four uniformed young ladies from the Travis High School Marine Corps ROTC.

A Memorial Day annual service in Fulshear was also held in honor of veterans at its Fort Bend salutes America program in appreciation of past and present military service. Let’s not forget the many American flags displayed throughout the Fort Bend communities honoring the country’s heroes.

Also locally, kicking off the national observance, Constellation Field was privileged on May 20, to have the participation of over 50 Fort Bend high school graduating seniors, who have chosen to enlist in the armed forces after graduation. The moment with them on the field was more moving when Debbie Fancher, who beautifully sang the National Anthem and God Bless America, added the Americana feel to the special recognition. Jake Messinger, too, sang the National Anthem in style at Constellation Field, and was overheard by an admirer telling him, “Yo! You sang good!”
