The Afterburner 06/04/14

My, my, my…After last week, we are buried in information requests and loading up to hunt bear with a switch when it comes to the Central Appraisal District. HOA’s, CAD’s, why is it and the alphabet soups of government operations are so impossible to deal with? On that note, it appears there just might be a thawing in the ice clad management over at FCCA. The jury is still out… sure would be nice to report on something productive over there other than nagging at homeowners. Following their own rules…All of them! What a concept! We’re watching.
And you folks over at Rosenberg, no one has forgotten, we wanted to give your new chief a chance to get his ducks in a row….you know, lined up, uniformed, and quacking… hang in there.
Yo Stafford… we hear ya! Digging into the cesspool you have brought to our attention is…just nasty! But we are trying to figure out how to make that dog hunt since the District Attorney seems to not be interested. While it seems to be illegal, it just might be a catastrophic failure in moral turpitude. We shall see. And NO, the police department has NOT fallen down on their job….heck they even honestly (and often to their determent) report ALL crimes. That my friends is a novel concept here in Fort Bend County where cities vie for Safe City declaration by massaging the crime reporting numbers; speaking of crime reporting….a couple of the local papers got schooled in Crime Reporting last week. We shall see if the numbers really mean what they say.
Oh, and speaking of honesty and all…What the heck is going on over at Mo City? Four Officers out the door last week for falsifying police reports? And you let them resign so they can ply that trade again? Say it ain’t so! Hopefully our information is bad, because if it is not…scary!
And finally, $15,000 in fees for an Open Records Request? You have got to be kidding!!! Heck, $1,500 is just as unacceptable! We, the stink’n taxpayers already own that information – you elected humps only get to house it for us…cough it up! And by the way…what could possibly be in the missives, accessible to the public, between the Sheriff and the District Attorney that could cost sooo much money? There are not that many sheep in all of Fort Bend County!
And under the heading of REALLY!?!?! – People, look around you – it’s vacation time….you want us to work?
Until next week – we’ll be digging out….
