Hunters Glen Elementary School students proudly completed their first marathon, which was held on their campus during Physical Education classes. The students ran a mile (an equivalent of four laps around the block) during PE class each day, with many students running more than a mile.

“The students didn’t think they could actually complete the entire marathon,” said Coach Lewis Rhone, “but once I explained how the mile could be divided into smaller distances, they were excited to join in.”

Hunters Glen Elementary thanks the marathon sponsors, including H-E-B and BlueCross BlueShield, who helped make the event enjoyable for students.
