Upcoming youth cooking camps begin in June
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Fort Bend County will offer 2 cooking camps this summer. “Pantry2Plate” is for kids 8 – 12 years old. Pantry2Plate is scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, June 17, 18 and 19, 2014 from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm each day.
“Pantry2Plate” teaches basic cooking skills, healthy eating and physical activity. One of the highlights planned for this year’s camp is Taco Day where participants will prepare and enjoy a variety of tacos. The camp will be held at the Extension Office at 1402 Band Road in Rosenberg. The cost is $30 per participant.
Teen Chef Camp is for teens 13 – 16 years old and is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, June 24 and 25 from 9:30 am – 2 pm each day. Teen chefs will prepare a tasty meal each day and will learn about nutrition.
One of the highlights planned for this year’s camp is Kitchen Chemistry – where the kitchen will be incorporated into science. The camp will be held at the Extension Office at 1402 Band Road in Rosenberg. The cost is $35 per participant.
