This small Mexican restaurant in the Sienna Plantation area was recommended by two un-related readers, each singing the praises of the margaritas and great food. On an early weekday evening we had our pick of the dozen or so tables. By the time we left, there was a line at the door.

The menu offers typical Tex-Mex items along with some unique offerings. Of interest were the Pineapple Salad, Nopales Salad, Grapefruit Salad, Shrimp Soup, Pazole Verde, Pepper Cheese Steak, and Chicken Cubano. The dessert options were sopapillas or flan.

As reported, the frozen margaritas tasted good but were half melted when they arrived at the table. Very disappointed, I did not order another one and deducted half a star for this. The fajitas were quite good, some of the best I have tried. They were colorfully presented on a sizzling iron plate with quarter wedges of roasted tomatoes, onions and a sliced red jalapeno. With the exception of the chips, all of the food was fresh, tasty and creatively presented. The salsa was different than typical salsas in appearance, with more of a clear liquid base with chopped vegetables and spices and a very pleasing taste.

Overall, I predict this restaurant will expand from its small space very soon. Other than a couple of glitches that could easily be remedied (melted margarita and the chips were slightly stale), the food was excellent. Their strong points were the fresh quality and flavor of food with exciting new offerings, and food presentation. The prices were slightly more than similar places, but probably in line for that area. I would definitely go back to try their salads.
