Ashley Anderson

And the winner is…Ashley Anderson! This is what was heard in Kingwood last January when Ashley Anderson won the title of Miss Northeast Houston and the honor to compete for Miss Texas this summer. Ashley had to participate in interview, physical fitness in swimsuit, talent, and on stage question. In addition to winning the crown, she also was named the overall interview winner. Since that time, she has been preparing for the state competition by working on her fitness, modeling, interview skills, and her favorite phase of competition which is talent where she will perform a tap dance rendition to Michael Buble’s Orange Colored Sky.

The time is near when she will check in at the Miss Texas Scholarship Pageant which will be held in Richardson from June 28-July 5. She will compete along with 52 other girls in all phases of competition during the week. In addition, she will participate in a Dillard’s fashion show at Northpark Mall in Dallas and attend the Miss Texas Gala. On finals night, a top 15 will be announced with those girls recompeting for the title. In addition to the top scores, one contestant will be chosen by the public as the People’s Choice contestant and be added to the top 15 that night. Voting is held on the Miss Texas website (www.misstexas.org) for $1 a vote. So please support Ashley by logging in and voting for Miss Northeast Houston, Ashley Anderson. The moneys raised will be used for scholarships for the contestants. The Miss America Organization is the number one source of scholarship money for women. The winner of Miss Texas will go on to compete at the Miss America Scholarship Pageant held in Atlantic City in September.

Ashley will be a senior at Texas A & M University in the fall studying veterinary and biomedical science and is a 2012 honor graduate of Needville High School. She is the daughter of Mitch and Pauline Anderson of Rosenberg and the granddaughter of Joyce Green and the late Jimmy Lee Green of Rosenberg and the late Jake and Sue Yelderman of Damon.
