Police searching for hit-and-run driver

Sugar Land Police are looking for a vehicle that hit a 24-year-old woman traveling in the eastbound lane of Lexington Boulevard near Riverbend Crossing just after midnight.

When police arrived, the woman was lying face down in the roadway and bleeding from her face.  There was a damaged bicycle next to her and a large amount of broken glass on the roadway.  The woman couldn’t remember what happened.  She was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Medical Center.

Police believe the woman was hit by a vehicle, and the driver did not stop to render aid.  Several people who saw the woman in the road stopped to help but said they did not see the vehicle that hit the woman.

Anyone with information should call the Sugar Land Police Department at (281) 275-2020 or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at (281) 342-TIPS (8477).
