Free family movie matinees @ First Colony Branch Library
Fort Bend County Libraries will feature free Family Movie Matinees at the First Colony Branch Library, 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land, in July. A variety of family films will be shown.
The special feature on Saturday, July 12, is a 2012 action film with a star-studded cast, including Robert Downey, Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, and Gwyneth Paltrow. Nick Fury is director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D.. When global security is threatened by Loki and his cohorts, Fury pulls together an elite team of Marvel Super Heroes, including Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow, to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. This movie is rated PG-13. Showtime is 2:00 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library.
On Friday, July 18, the special feature is an animated feature film about a robot that was left behind on Earth after the planet was evacuated. When he meets a sleek robot named EVE, he pursues her across the galaxy with a pet cockroach and a heroic team of malfunctioning, misfit robots. This movie is rated G. Showtime is 1:30 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library.
The movies are free and open to the public. The libraries’ licensing agreement for public showing of films prohibits them from releasing the name of the movie outside of the library.
