Sienna Branch Library announces summer children’s programs

Fort Bend County Libraries’ Sienna Branch Library, 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd in Missouri City, presents a variety of free children’s programs — Mother Goose Time, Toddler Time, Story Time, and School-Age Programs — every month.  These programs are free and open to the public. The summer schedule for July is as follows:

Mother Goose Time, which takes place on Tuesdays at 10:00 am, provides caregiver/infant activities and songs especially designed for the youngest book-lovers, from age 1 month to 12 months. Program dates are July 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29.

Toddler Time — Thursdays at 10:00 am — offers caregiver/child activities, stories and songs for older babies, from 12 to 36 months of age. Program dates are July 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31.

Pre-school children, 3 to 6 years of age, will enjoy Story Time, where they hear stories, watch movies, and participate in age-appropriate craft activities, beginning at 10:00 and 11:15 am each Wednesday. Program dates are July 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30.

Pajama Night Story Time — which takes place every Monday at 6:30 pm — gives families an evening option for some activities presented during the day time.  Program dates are July 7, 14, 21, and 28.

The School-Age Programs — crafts, movies, stories, and more for school-aged children in grades 1 through 5 ONLY — takes place on Tuesdays, beginning at 2:00 pm during the summer. These programs are made possible by the Friends of the Sienna Branch Library. The July schedule is as follows:

July 1 – Cartoon Camp
July 8 – Birds, Birds, Birds
July 15 – Oasis for Children
July 22 – Rhythm of Life
July 29 – End-of-Summer Blast

The Middle School Programs, which begin at 3:00 pm on Thursdays in the summer, are designed for youth in grades 6 and up. The July schedule is as follows:

July 3 – Throwback Thursday
July 10 – Screen Printing (sponsored by the Friends of the Sienna Branch Library)
July 17 – Life-Size Monopoly®
July 24 – Comic-Book Pendants Rock!
July 31 – Pop-Culture Jeopardy
