Stafford’s 39th Annual July 4 Celebration begins with parade July 3

By Karen Daniels

Each year the City of Stafford celebrates our Nation’s independence with not just one day of commemoration, but two. On Thursday, July 3rd the parade will start at 7:00pm at the HCC parking lot and conclude at the Stafford Centre. Mr. Jack Jebbia is the 2014 Guest of Honor Parade Marshal.

Former SMSD students who wish to show their appreciation are welcome to ride in the hay wagon behind him (please arrive by 6:15). After the parade, festivities will continue at Festival Field with free carnival rides, delicious food and drinks, game booths and hay rides for the family, and live music from Beggars Union and Avizo Band, helping you dance the night away, until 11:30pm. On Friday, July 4th the Freedom Rings concert featuring the Fort Bend Symphony will begin at 6:45pm. at the Stafford Centre. Fireworks will follow at 9:00pm.

The City of Stafford invites the entire community to attend this two-day celebration.
