Summer schedule of children’s programs announced
University Branch Library, 14010 University Blvd in Sugar Land, presents a variety of free children’s programs — Mother Goose Time, Toddler Time, Story Time, Pajama Night Story Time, and School-Age programs — every month. These programs are free and open to the public. The summer schedule for July is as follows:
Mother Goose Time, which takes place every Wednesday at 10:30 am, provides caregiver/infant activities and songs especially designed for the youngest book-lovers, from age 1 month to 12 months. Program dates are July 2, 9, 16, 3, and 30.
Toddler Time, which meets every Tuesday at 10:30 am, offers caregiver/child activities, stories and songs for older babies, from 12 to 36 months of age. Program dates are July 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29.
Story Time, which meets every Thursday at 10:30 am, provides stories, movies, and age-appropriate craft activities for pre-school children, 3 to 6 years of age. Program dates are July 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31.
Pajama Night Story Time — which takes place on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm — gives families an evening option for some activities presented during the day time. Program dates are July 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29.
Family Story Time – Saturdays at 10:30 am – provides stories, songs, a film, and a craft for families with children of different ages. Program dates are July 12, 19, 26, and August 2. Family Story Time will not take place on July 5; the library will be closed for the holiday.
The School-Age Programs — crafts, movies, stories, and more for school-aged children in grades 1 through 5 — takes place every Wednesday, beginning at 2:00 pm, during the summer. A free hand-stamp, which is required for admission, will be available one hour before the show. These programs are made possible by the Friends of the University Branch Library. The July schedule is as follows:
- July 2 – Crafts & Cartoons
- July 9 – Animals of Brazos Bend
- July 16 – Wacky Science with Mick Corley
- July 23 – Puppet Pizzazz
- July 30 – Game Carnival
The Young Adult/Middle School Programs, which are designed for youth in grades 6 and up, take place every Monday, beginning at 3:00 pm, in the summer. These programs are made possible by the Friends of the University Branch Library. The July schedule is as follows:
- July 7 – Movie Day
- July 14 – Origami Mania
- July 21 – Tales from Beyond
- July 28 – Ice-Cream & Book Extravaganza
