Meadows Place 24th Annual 4th of July Parade

By Karen Daniels

Get your bikes, skates, and wagons polished and decorated for the 24th Annual Meadows Place 4th of July Parade. Residents are encouraged to invite family and friends to the non-motorized neighborhood event where “half the town is in the parade and the other half is watching the parade.”

This year’s marshal is FBISD Superintendent Dr. Charles Dupre. Starting point and line up is at Sugar Grove Church of Christ located at 11600 West Airport Blvd at 9:15am. The judging for pre-registered entrants is at 9:30am. The parade will commence through the neighborhood beginning at 10:00am.

The end of the parade route is McGrath Park, by the lake. Free snow cones and water will be handed out while the St. Thomas Pipe Band entertains. Meet state and local dignitaries as the children play and fish. Awards will be given per category.
