“Very Exciting Times” at The Stafford Centre

Bryan Blaum, Stafford Centre facility manager and president of FMsquared, spoke about the upcoming events at the July 2nd Stafford City Council meeting. With the theater’s fall line-up, and the 10 year anniversary celebration of the Stafford Centre, things are indeed going to be very exciting. The following are only some of the headlining events:

August 1-3 – Les Misérables: A story of redemption. This award-winning musical will appeal to a mature audience, but all are welcome.

August 15 – FB County Women’s Center Music Festival: “Happy Together Tour” featuring members of The Turtles, Three Dog Night, Grand Funk, the Detroit wheels and the Playboys. Tickets currently on sale: 281-208-6900.

August 23 – Noonatics Convention and Concert: Stafford Centre was the selected site for this year’s annual fan club meeting and concert for Peter Noone and Herman’s Hermits. An expected 300 “noonatics’ from around the county will visit Stafford. Tickets on sale now.

September 18 – Ronny Milsap: Hits like: “Smoky Mountain Rain” and “Any Day Now.” Tickets available soon.

September 20-21 – Houston Hot Sauce Festival: Hot sauce samples, food and craft venders, contests, children’s area, live Cajun and Zydeco music. Tickets available at gate.

September 25 – Peter Frampton: Rock legend of smash hit “Do You Feel Like We Do” featuring the talkbox, will perform for the second time at the Stafford Centre. Tickets available soon.

September 28 – The Best of Jethro Tull: Ian Anderson, classical flutist that incorporates rock music. Over 60 million albums sold. A “truly unique experience.” Tickets on sale now.

October 16 – Clint Black: Katy native, this will be his first time to perform at the Stafford Centre. Mayor Scarcella said, “getting Clint Black is a coup.” Opening the show are Sugar Land natives, Michaelis.

October 22 – Heart: This will be Ann and Mary Wilson’s first time at the Stafford Centre and expected to be an “extremely powerful show.” Heart was inducted to the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame in 2013.

December 4 – Trace Adkins: Country western singer and prior winner of Celebrity Apprentice will perform. Tickets will for the last three shows will be available soon.

The 10-Year Anniversary party for the Stafford Centre will be held throughout fall. Several plans are in motion: 1) banquet dinner in the ballroom with a concert in the theatre, 2) drive-in picture show with old-fashioned concession stand, 3) Fort Bend Symphony and the SMSD band members will perform together, and 4) children’s festival during the holidays.
