Missouri City book clubs announce August selections

Whether you discovered a love of reading at age 16 or 60, and whether you enjoy a good love story or a gritty crime novel, Fort Bend County Libraries invites you to share that love of reading with other book lovers at one of Missouri City Branch Library’s book clubs. Three book clubs meet monthly at the library, located at 1530 Texas Parkway, and new members are always welcome.

Love a good love story or a chilling thriller? Members of the Talk Back Book Club meet on the first Saturday of each month to discuss general fiction, beginning at 11:00 am, in the Conference Room. The group will meet on Saturday, August 2, to discuss I See Rude People, written by Amy Alkon.

If mysteries and crime novels intrigue you, come to the Murder & Mayhem Book Club, which meets on the third Saturday of the month, beginning at 11:00 am, in the Conference Room. The book club will meet on August 16 to discuss Maisie Dobbs, written by Jacqueline Winspear.

The Inky Panels Graphic Novel Book Club is a book club for teens aged 14 and up who enjoy comic books and graphic novels. The group meets on the fourth Monday of every month, at 7:00 pm, in the library’s Conference Room. The book to be discussed on August 25 is Donner Dinner Party, written by Nathan Hale.

The book clubs are free and open to the public. For more information, call the Missouri City Branch Library at 281-238-2100.
