First Colony Branch Library Youth Programs resume fall schedule after break
First Colony BranchLibrary, 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land, presents a variety of free children’s programs — Mother Goose Time, Toddler Time, Story Time, Pajama Night Story Time, and After-School Breaks — every month. These programs are free and open to the public. The new fall schedule will resume during the third week in August.
Mother Goose Time, which normally takes place every Tuesday at 11:00 am, provides caregiver/infant activities and songs especially designed for the youngest book-lovers, from age 1 month to 12 months. Program dates are August 19 and 26 ONLY this month.
Toddler Time, which normally meets every Wednesday and Thursday at 10:15 am, offers caregiver/child activities, stories and songs for older babies, from 12 to 36 months of age. Program dates are August 20, 21, 27 and 28 ONLY this month.
Story Time, which normally meets every Wednesday at 11:15 am, provides stories, movies, and age-appropriate craft activities for pre-school children, 3 to 6 years of age. Program dates are August 20 and 27 ONLY this month.
Pajama Night Story Time—which normally takes place on the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:30 pm—gives families an evening option for some activities otherwise presented during the daytime. Pajama Night Story Time will not take place in August. The program will resume in September.
Kinder Korner — a time for kindergartners to enjoy stories, movies, crafts and other activities – normally takes place on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month, at 4:00 pm. Kinder Korner will not take place in August; the regular schedule will resume in September.
The After-School Breaks — crafts, movies, stories, and more for school-aged children in 1st through 5th grades ONLY – normally take place on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays, beginning at 4:30 pm. The After-School Breaks will not take place in August. The program will resume in September.
The last Young Adult program of the summer will take place on August 1, beginning at 3:00 pm, with a “Percy Jackson Party.” Youth in grades 6 and up will celebrate the upcoming movie release of the second installment in the Percy Jackson book series with delicious blue snacks and camp half-blood trivia.
