First Colony Branch Library announce book club selections for August
Whether you enjoy classic literature or a gritty crime novel, Fort Bend County Libraries invites you to share that love of reading with other book lovers at one of First Colony Branch Library’s book clubs. These book clubs meet monthly at the library, located at 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land, and new members are always welcome.
The new Novel Expectations Book Club meets on the second Thursday of every month, at 1:30 pm, to discuss a variety of popular fiction. The book to be discussed on Thursday, August 14, will be The Aviator’s Wife, written by Melanie Benjamin.
Members of the Sugar Land Great Books Adult Discussion Group meet on the third Tuesday of the month to discuss classic literature. The book group will meet on August 19, at 7:00 pm, in the Conference Room, to discuss The Approaching Fury: Voices of the Storm, 1820-1861, written by Stephen B. Oates.
The Amiga Book Club, a discussion group for Spanish-speaking readers, meets on the last Thursday of the month, beginning at 12:00 noon, in the Conference Room. On Thursday, August 28, the book to be discussed is La mano de Fátima, written by Ildefonso Falcones. This book club discussion is conducted entirely in Spanish.
