Sugar Land Town Square continues to grow
As Sugar Land Town Square marks its 10th year, the area’s premier shopping, dining and entertainment destination has become the preferred choice for new and emerging restaurant and retail concepts with 17 of its current retail tenants choosing the development for their first location or their first location in the Houston market.
Those who selected Sugar Land Town Square for their first boutique or restaurant, including several husband-and-wife teams, say the development’s mix of tenants and unique vibe made it most appealing.
“Sugar Land Town Square is a place where singles, couples and families all can enjoy some element of being here,” says Kim Syma, owner of Revolution Studio, an indoor cycling studio. “It’s a real community.”
Not surprisingly, those who opened their first location in Sugar Land Town Square say they were attracted to the setting while shopping and dining.
“When my wife and I walked Sugar Land Town Square before or after dinner, we always said if we ever opened a retail location, this would be the place,” says Martin Nguyen, who with his wife Christine opened The Sweet Boutique serving custom cakes and other dessert items. “We just love the high-end feel of a lifestyle center setting.”
Charlie Adams of Planned Community Developers says the inquiries he receives from those looking to open their first location are from across the board.
“Those who contact us look at our tenant mix and realize Sugar Land Town Square is ideal for just about any upscale concept,” says Adams. “Unique concepts coupled with established national brands create the kind of shopping and dining destination experience today’s consumers have come to expect.”
Current tenants which opened their first location in Sugar Land Town Square include health and beauty boutiques Awakened Yoga and An Albert Luiz Salon & Spa, retailers, La Reve Bridal Couture, Twenty Two Fifty Interiors & Gifts, House of Blooms and Cigar Cigar! Sugar Land Town Square retailers with their first locations in the Houston market include the boutique jeweler The Vintage Pearl and Brilliant Sky Toys & Books.
Restaurants Japaniero’s, Jupiter Pizza & Waffle Co., Guru Burgers + Crepes, BLU Restaurant & Lounge, and The Rouxpour, a New Orleans-inspired restaurant, also selected Sugar Land Town Square for their first locations. Tierra del Fuego and national brand Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop selected Sugar Land Town Square as their 1st location in the Houston area.
