Report: Stafford PD questioning a suspect in Leonetti case
Stafford Police say they are questioning a suspect in connection with the death of a well-known Fort Bend County businessman, according to our news partner, KHOU Channel 11.
Eric Norris, 25, was arrested on the north side of Houston by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force in the shooting death of 45-year-old Donald Leonetti. Leonetti died two weeks ago after being shot during a robbery at a high stakes poker game.
Leonetti was a fixture in the Fort Bend County business community. For 25 years, his Leonetti Graphics kept businesses, sports teams, schools and others in T-shirts and signs.
Leonetti enjoyed participating in private poker games, including one hosted by a friend on July 17. That is where two masked gunmen broke in to the invitation only game waving rifles.
Shots were fired and Leonetti was killed and 56-year-old Charles Olsen was injured.
Stafford Police say the suspect is expected to be formally charged shortly and will likely be arraigned on murder charges Friday in Fort Bend County Court.
