Sugar Land Skeeters to Host Blood Drive
Help save a life before the Sugar Land Skeeters take on the Camden Riversharks on Saturday, Aug. 16 and you could win an autographed bat or a chance to throw out the first pitch! The all-day blood drive begins in the exclusive Insperity Club, where donors will have the opportunity to meet the players from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The blood drive continues from 3 to 7 p.m. on a donor coach outside Constellation Field.
All who donate or attempt to donate will receive a voucher for a free Skeeters game ticket, a Commit for Life T-shirt, a gift certificate for a free pint of Blue Bell ice cream, plus be entered for a chance to win a bat autographed by the team. Those who donate or attempt to donate before 4 p.m. will also be entered for a chance to throw out the first pitch!
The Skeeters family knows just how important blood donations. Bryce, the son of Skeeters General Manager Chris Jones, was born with a rare blood disorder. He received more than 80 units of blood and a bone marrow transplant. The Skeeters blood drive will help patients like Bryce live full and healthy lives!
The donation process is simple and only takes about one hour. Donors should drink plenty of water and eat a hearty meal prior to giving. For more information, visitgiveblood.org.
