Clements sophomore to study in Oman this year
Braden Muscarello, a sophomore at Clements High School, has been awarded a Kennedy-Lugar YES Abroad scholarship to study in Oman during the 2014-2015 school year. She is one of 65 American high school students to receive scholarships to study abroad in countries with significant Muslim populations for one academic year. The merit-based scholarship is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
As a YES Abroad scholar, Braden will serve as a youth ambassador in Oman, promoting mutual understanding by forming lasting relationships with her host family and friends. She will live with a host family in Muscat and attend Al Sahwa School with Omani peers. While abroad, she will also participate in enrichment activities, acquire leadership skills, and help educate others about American culture.
The Kennedy-Lugar YES Abroad program is open to all students, ages 15-18. For more information, visit http://www.yes-abroad.org/.
