Fort Bend ISD to host Physical & Health Expo on Saturday

To prepare for the 2014-2015 athletic season, student athletes are invited to attend a Student Physicals and Health Expo on Saturday, August 9, from 9 a.m. to noon at Wheeler Field House (16403 Lexington Blvd., Sugar Land, 77479). Hosted by Houston Methodist Orthopedics and Sports Medicine-Sugar Land, the event will give participants, ages 12-18, the opportunity to complete extracurricular, pre-participation physicals for a fee of $20, cash only.  (Sugar Land Methodist will donate the $20 fee back to FBISD athletic trainers to support their activity accounts.)

Orthopedic, sports medicine and cardiology specialists will be on site to provide additional testing for clearance as needed.
The event will also offer athletes 4C Sports Injury Analytics and Performance Testing, which is being utilized by the NFL and many NCAA Division I institutions. For $99, athletes (whether participating in physical exams or not) are invited to complete a 10-minute, high-speed, video motion capture to calculate injury risk to the lower body. 4C will generate a corrective exercise plan and injury risk report for participants.  Learn more about the 4C Sports Testing Program at https://analytics.4csports.com/signup/houston-methodist/2014/08/09/.
