FortBendCountyLibraryLogoRepresentatives from Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions will conduct free SAT® and ACT® practice-test sessions at several locations in the Fort Bend County library system in September.

The SAT and ACT tests are college-entrance exams used by U.S. colleges to assess high school students’ general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work, as well as to determine admissions and award scholarships and grants.

The full-length practice-test sessions help students to gain experience and become better prepared for the actual test.

The SAT® test is three hours and 45 minutes long, and consists of three sections – Critical Reading, Writing, and Math. The practice tests take place from 10:00 am to 2:15 pm, including administration and breaks. Students should bring two #2 pencils and a non-graphing calculator. The September schedule of SAT practice-test sessions is as follows:

· September 27 — Albert George Branch Library, 9230 Gene Street, Needville. (* This practice test takes place from 9:00 am to 1:15 pm).

The ACT® test is a multiple-choice test covering four skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, and science, with an optional writing test. The practice test takes just over 4 hours, from 10:15 am to 2:30 pm, including administration instructions and breaks. Students are encouraged to bring two #2 pencils and a non-graphing calculator.
