May 31, 1930 – August 8, 2014

Becky Stettler File, 84, of Houston, Texas passed away on Friday, August 08, 2014.  She was born on May 31, 1930 to Paul Hassam Stettler and Rebecca Meyer Stettler in Rochester, PA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 50 years Donald R. File, Sr.; and her brother Paul Stettler.

Becky graduated from Ambridge High School and received her R.N. from Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing.  She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Sugar Land, former member of Quail Valley Women’s Golf Association and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Fort Bend County Women’s Shelter.

Becky is survived by daughters, Kimberle File, Pam Terry and husband Kim, Jan Sears and husband Rex and Becky Newman and husband Walter; son Donald R. File, Jr. and wife Kendra; grandchildren, Emily Burgess and husband Justin and son Connor, Katie Calhoun and husband Jim, Leslie Terry and fiancé Chris Jordan, Abby Wilder and husband Mike, Tom and Claire Sears, and Jenny Jane and Nick Newman; brother David Stettler and wife Jean; and many other relatives and cherished friends.

Becky’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 (281) 992-7200 with Pastor Mike Myers officiating.

The family would like to thank Diana Rodriguez and the staff at Pearland Clare Bridge for their devoted and loving care given to Becky as she progressed through Alzheimer’s.  We would also like to thank Laura Labay and the staff at Hallmark Hospice for their compassionate care.

In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be given in Becky’s name to Amazing Place, 3735 Drexel, Houston, TX 77027.
