Clements volleyball sees possibilities for upcoming season

The Clements High volleyball team opens their season last week with a non-conference match against Stratford. The Rangers lost to Stratford last fall in a neutral non-district match, 3-1 and will host Memorial at 5 p.m. Thursday.
The Rangers are in their second year with head coach Jenny Adcock and the team sees possibility for their upcoming season.
“I think that our setters are more experienced and comfortable since this is their second season back,” Adcock said. “This is my second year here so they are more comfortable with working with me. The girls, in general, know what I expect of them.”
Adcock says she is focusing on two things this year, competing and focusing on the team as a whole, not just the varsity.
“Those are two things we try and focus on everyday and the volleyball stuff comes after that,” Adcock continues, “We take care of everybody and try to get everyone competitive.”
The Rangers have returning seniors that understand Adcock and her expectations. Madison Coffee, an outside hitter, has confidence in her team and has a good outlook for the season.
“This season has all of us really excited, we have a lot of young talent coming up,” Coffee said. “Very strong hitters, very strong passers. Last season, we made a playoff run that we didn’t make for the past couple years. So we have high hopes for a good season.”
Coffee also says that the team’s familiarity and communication with each other is what will bring success to their season.
