Earlier this month, the third grade class at St. Laurence Catholic School (SLCS) prepared 150 lunch kits for the students at Bethel Ministry. The bags were full of lunch items and each bag was decorated by the students, and included a card for a child going on Spring Break.
The SLCS third graders did chores to collect funds for the project and they rallied the entire school to bring in non-perishable items for their lunch kits. One hundred and fifty bags were prepared and picked up by Bethel for delivery to their students before school let out for spring break.
After the initial purchase of food for the lunch kits, the third graders had enough chore money left to stock the pantry for Bethel as soon as school resumes and Bethel resumes service to their students.
