Summer nights in Texas are hot and sultry, but on Saturday,July 27, 7 p.m.-1 p.m., the evening will be sizzling with the sounds of Roberto Pulido y Los Classicos. The Go Tejano Committee will be hosting their 4th Annual Scholarship Dance benefiting the youth of Fort Bend County. The dance will be held at the Fort Bend County fairgrounds in Building “C”.
Pulido is an influential force in the development of Tex-Mex music and knows the importance of scholarships. The predestined Tejano star attended Pan American University on a music scholarship. He will be bringing his classic and iconic sounds to headline the evening. Tejano Sounds and Conjunto X’s will help get things started.
The Go Tejano Committee is committed to raising monies for scholarships for deserving youth. The committee hosts several dances and other events throughout the year. The volunteers’ hard work is one to be commended and recognized.
The FBCF will celebrate Go Tejano Day on September 29th. “We will be holding our 4th Annual Go Tejano Day,” proudly states Paul Guillen, Vice Chairman of the Go Tejano Committee. “Headlining the show we have two of Tejano’s hottest acts, Emilio Navaira y Rio and Jimmy Gonzales y El Super Grupo Mazz on the Brazos stage,” reveals Guillen. The committee is planning on having 7 to 10 acts on 2 stages as part of the day’s events.
