Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Sugar Land has called the Rev. Scott Allan Thompson, to lead the congregation as rector. Thompson, previously rector of an Episcopal Church in Wisconsin, will celebrate his first Sunday at Holy Cross on March 9, 2008 at 8:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.

In a letter to the families of the church, Thompson said, “Holy Cross is a phenomenal place! There is so much love at Holy Cross, so much faith in God, so much dedication to his Word, so many gifts present and active. As far as I am concerned, the future is wide open [at Holy Cross] and the sky is the limit!” Sr. Warden of Holy Cross, Tom Richards said that the church looks forward to a period of rapid growth in the community with such enthusiastic leadership

Thompson will help the church realize its newly developed mission and vision that calls for “significant growth” and outreach into the Sugar Land community.
