Applications being accepted for contest

High school teenage girls living in Fort Bend Co. between the ages of 15 and 19 are invited to participate in the 2nd Annual Miss Fort Bend Hispanic Heritage Forum Queen contest.

The winner will be crowned at the Cinco De Mayo celebration that will be held at the K.C. Hall and grounds on May 3. The queen will be selected by the highest number of votes that are tabulated at the end of the contest. The contest has begun and will end at 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 30.

The winner will be awarded a scholarship monetary certificate. a crown, charm bracelet, and Queen pin. The Queen will hold the title for one year and will instill Hispanic pride and respect during her reign.

Serving this year on the Hispanic Queen committee is Lupe A. Uresti, chairperson, committee members Lydia Villagomez, Frances Villarreal, and Mari Villarreal.
