Sugar Land recently awarded a $3.1 million construction contract and broke ground for Fire Station #1. Meridian Commercial, L.P. was selected to construct the new fire station at the intersection of Matlage Way at Brooks Street.

The new 10,300-square-foot facility will include bays for two trucks; however, the station was designed to accommodate future expansion. Building materials for Fire Station #1 were selected to complement the architecture of the Brooks Street area.
