The Rosenberg Police Department and Lamar Consolidated Independent School District will work together to empower Rosenberg area children. The agencies will host a weekend long training designed to keep children safe. The training, known as
radKids, is a three day safety education course. It teaches children between five and 12 years of age self-defense techniques that build confidence and prepares them for encounters with strangers.
The classes will be held at Navarro Middle school located at 4700 Avenue N, Rosenberg. The training schedule is as follows: Friday, April 11, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.; Saturday, April 12, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.; and Sunday, April 13, 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
The cost of the program is $25 per child. The fee covers all materials required for all three days. All children must be accompanied by an adult each day of the training. Children must participate in all three days of the training. At the program’s conclusion, the children will
participate in a demonstration to showcase their newly acquired self-defense techniques.
