Amber Cutler, daughter of Tom and Jennifer Cutler, received the Gold Award, the highest award bestowed upon a member of the Girl Scouts. It is an award
presented to a select number of girls within the United States who have demonstrated strong leadership, strength in character, service to their community, a commitment to excellence and have performed a distinguished achievement that exemplifies the ideals of the Girl Scouts.
Amber conducted a week long ASL (American Sign Language) camp for the youth in her area to raise awareness and stimulate interest for a better understanding of deaf culture.
Amber is a fourth year student of ASL at her high school, Fort Bend Baptist Academy, where she is currently concluding her senior year. She is also President of National Honor Society, ASL and Senior class Chaplain, President of YIP (Youth in Philanthropy), a member of Interact
and a Captain of the Varsity Soccer team.
Amber plans to continue her education and community service next fall, at the University of Saint Thomas, where she has been awarded the Presidential Scholarship.
