Ariel Bailey wins $20,000 scholarship

The Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc. is proud to announce that it has awarded Ariel R. Bailey of Dulles High School the Horatio Alger National Scholar Award to fund a college education.

Ariel visited Capitol Hill to meet US Senator Chuck Hagel, a Horatio Alger Member, who congratulated the group on their Horatio Alger National Scholarship of $20,000.

Representing all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, the 108 National Scholars have received a $20,000 need-based college scholarship and are currently meeting in Washington for a National Scholars Conference.

The students were selected for the Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program because they have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. The National Scholars are among the best and the brightest youth in America.
