Woman sentenced in
Fulshear teacher murder case
The lone woman involved in the aggravated robbery and murder of retired Fulshear teacher Martha Fields in December 2007 was assessed a sentence after a plea of guilty.
A 26 year old Victoria resident, Angela Lara, was sentenced to 50 years in prison on June 2, 2009 after she entered a plea of guilty to Aggravated Robbery that led to the death of Ms. Fields. According to authorities, when confronted with the fact that Ms. Fields had been
stabbed she replied, “**it Happens”.
In the December attack Ms. Fields was stabbed over 17 times after she opened the door to two men believing them to have a package to deliver. Although there were three suspects involved, Lara did not enter the home and remained in the car as a lookout. Her co-conspirator
Kevin Cypher was arrested shortly after the murder and took a plea deal of 30 years. The third conspirator has been identified as Marwan Saeed. He remains at large.
District Judge Brady Elliott sentenced Lara.
