Hightower High School Media Academy announced today that it has received a $5,000 Teach Award from Best Buy Co. Inc. for integrating interactive technology into its
classroom curriculum.
The Hightower High School Electronic Media Academy junior level is producing a 30 minute documentary on the condition of wetlands in Fort Bend County. The grant will be used to purchase Mac Intel video editing computers that will be used in the production, development and
distribution of an educational DVD on the wetlands that will be given to all Fort Bend County libraries and Fort Bend ISD schools.
“The Electronic Media Program on the Hightower High School campus has afforded many wonderful opportunities for our students. Through this project the teachers, Ted Irving and Ralph Nickerson, have provided the students in the media program experience in producing a documentary that will
be available to all of the Fort Bend community. This generous grant from Best Buy will provide needed equipment to assist our students in producing a quality educational DVD on the wetlands in Fort Bend County. As the principal of Hightower High School I am proud of the
accomplishments of these staff members and the students they teach,” said Ms. Paquin, Principal of Hightower. |
