LCHS Criminal Justice students advance to state competiton

Lamar Consolidated High School Criminal Justice Teacher Dr. Fred Guess has been named the 2008-2009 Skills-USA Advisor of the Year for District 9 at the District Skills Competition.

Lamar CHS students Lien Cao, Winona Vo and Ben Turk were elected 2009/2010 District 9 officers.

This is the first year for Lamar CHS to compete in District competition. All students qualified for the State Competition in Corpus Christi, Texas, April 1-4.

Lamar CHS students advancing to the state competition are: In Felony Traffic Stop, 1st place, Ronda Holmes and Alex Medina; and 3rd place, Shirin Dhanani and Sarah Ebadan; Building Search, 1st place John Vargas, Jenae Butler and Fontanne Bassey,and 2nd place, Lamar, Ranndy Reed, Harry Hoang and Michael King; Crime Scene Investigation, 1st place, Malenda Sacaza, Winona Vo and Darienne Cornell, and 3rd place, Ben Turk, Lien Cao and Ruth Ike. Criminal Justice Quiz Bowl, 1st place, Tam Tran, Harry Hoang,

Roydaesha Evans, Alex Medina, Ronda Holmes and Sarah Ebadan, and 2nd place, Winona Vo, Shirin Dhanani, Darienne Cornell, Lizbeth Cantu, Lien Cao, Ruth Ike; Quiz Bowl, 1st place, , Ben Turk, Tania Khan, Treshay Adams, Jenae Butler, Amanda Onyenwuenyi and Jayshree Thomas; and Prepared Speech, 1st place, Tania Khan, and 3rd place, Fozia Dhanani.
