Lamar Consolidated High School Criminal Justice Teacher Dr. Fred Guess has been named the 2008-2009 Skills-USA Advisor of the Year for District 9 at the District Skills Competition.

Lamar CHS students Lien Cao, Winona Vo and Ben Turk were elected 2009/2010 District 9 officers.

This is the first year for Lamar CHS to compete in District competition. All students qualified for the State Competition in Corpus Christi, Texas, April 1-4.

Lamar CHS students advancing to the state competition are: In Felony Traffic Stop, 1st place, Ronda Holmes and Alex Medina; and 3rd place, Shirin Dhanani and Sarah Ebadan; Building Search, 1st place John Vargas, Jenae Butler and Fontanne Bassey,and 2nd place, Lamar, Ranndy Reed, Harry Hoang and Michael King; Crime Scene Investigation, 1st place, Malenda Sacaza, Winona Vo and Darienne Cornell, and 3rd place, Ben Turk, Lien Cao and Ruth Ike.
