Miss Candace Diane Ivy Weds Mr. Nicholas Gerard Palmarozzi, III


Miss Candace Diane Ivy and Mr. Nicholas Gerard Palmarozzi, III were united in marriage on Saturday, October 28, 2006, at six in the evening at Christ United Methodist Church of Sugar Land, Texas. The traditional double-ring ceremony was officiated by Reverend Morris Matthis. Music for the ceremony was provided by the Dreams Come True String Quartet, pianist Miss Beth McConnell, and soloist, Mrs. Annie Perry, of New Braunfels, Texas. Scripture readings were given by Miss Kelli Palmarozzi, sister of the groom. The reception at Sugar Creek Country Club immediately followed the ceremony. The ten-piece band, Commercial Art, presided over the evening of dinner, dancing and celebration. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Lupe Tortilla.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Ivy of Sugar Land. She is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Glenn Ivy of Austin, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. L.W. White of New Braunfels, Texas.

The groom is the son of Mr. Nicholas Palmarozzi, Jr. and Ms. Brenda Palmarozzi, both of Beaumont, Texas. He is the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. Nicholas Palmarozzi, of Groves, Texas and of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Johnson of Delhi, Louisiana.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a couture silk A-line gown designed by Eve of Milady. The strapless silk gown featured a fitted bodice with a dropped waist adorned with hand embroidery, Swarvoski crystals and pearls. The embroidered ivy pattern and pearls embellished the cathedral-length train. Her tiara of Swarvoski crystals and pearls held a white illusion waterfall veil sprinkled with champagne pearls which flowed to cathedral length. She carried a European hand-tied clutch with three shades of pink roses, medium pink pervaie, red berry hydrangeas, nervine lilies and clusters of Eucalyptus berries.

The bridesmaids wore strapless black satin gowns embellished with crystals and sequins along the bodice. They carried bouquets of roses in varying shades of pink. Miss Michelle Ivy, sister of the bride, of Austin served as Maid of Honor. Mrs. Bonnie Davis, long-time friend of the bride, of Dallas, served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids included friends of the bride: Miss Veronica Barrera, of Dallas, Miss Katie Frantz, and Miss Kelli Palmarozzi , both of Houston.

Serving as best men were the groom’s father, Mr. Nicholas Palmarozzi, Jr., and his good friend, Mr. Cory Crenshaw of College Station. Groomsmen were long-time friends of the groom: Mr. James Blanchard of Lumberton, Mr. Drew Crownover of Arlington, and Mr. Stephan Selinidis of Houston. Serving as the groom’s ushers were his cousins Mr. Bryan Ritchey of Houston and Mr. Christopher Palmarozzi of Austin.

The bride is a graduate of John F. Dulles High School and the University of Texas at Austin where she graduated with high honors with a BBA and MPA in accounting. She is employed as a Certified Public Accountant by PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Dallas.

The groom is a graduate of Monsignor Kelly High School in Beaumont. He earned a BBA from Baylor University and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law. He is employed as a defense attorney by Amis & Bell, of Arlington.

Following a honeymoon to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the couple resides in Dallas, Texas.
