Miss Christina Marie Koehl Weds Mr. Norman Coby Donaldson


Christina Marie Koehl and Norman Coby Donaldson were united in marriage on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at six o’clock in the evening at New Hope Lutheran Church in Missouri City, Texas. The Reverend H. Eldon “Cliff” Akerman officiated the double-ring ceremony, with music provided by Lois Gurney, organist, Charlotte Lewis, pianist and Scott Allen, baritone. Dinner and dancing followed at Sweetwater Country Club, Sugar Land with music by the Moore Chamber Players and The DJ Connection.

The festivities began with a Bridesmaids Brunch at The Burning Pear Restaurant, hosted by Mrs. Barbara Koehl of Dallas, PA, the bride’s grandmother and Mrs. Debra Sergeant of Little Silver, NJ, the bride’s aunt. A Welcome to Texas barbeque was held for arriving guests at the home of the parents of the bride, hosted by Mrs. Robin Brady. Guitarist Matt Thigpen entertained for the event. The Rehearsal Dinner was held at Café Adobe, hosted by the parents of the groom.

Christina is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Koehl of Sugar Land, TX. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Panasuk, of Scarsdale, NY; Mrs. Barbara Koehl of Dallas, PA; and Dr. C. Warren Koehl Jr. of Aiken, SC.

Coby is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Colie Donaldson of Waveland, MS. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Picquet of Albuquerque, NM and the late Mr. and Mrs. Millard Donaldson of Canadian, TX.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant full princess A-line style gown composed of a soft ivory AlenÁon lace over a pale ivory Italian matte satin with a light scattering of Swarovski crystals designed by Audrey Hart Couture. She carried a hand tied bouquet of cream Vandela roses, blush pink roses, cream tulips and cream calla lilies.

Mrs. Samantha Hank Matson, of Houston, TX and Mrs. Lindsey Krummel Koontz of Fort Worth, TX served as her Matrons of Honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Caroline Simpson of Benbrook, TX; Second Lieutenant Christine Creighton, of Sugar Land, TX; and Mrs. Chansi Bright Shope of Fort Worth, TX. Members of the house party were Miss Alyssa Noonan of Richmond, TX and Miss Nicole Picquet of Dallas, TX.

Captain Brandon Donaldson, brother of the groom, of Brownwood, TX served as Best Man. Groomsmen included Mr. Matthew Eller of Fort Worth, TX; Mr. Matthew Winter of Fort Worth, TX; Mr. Kyle Smits of Jenks, OK and Mr. Samuel Koehl, brother of the bride, of Sugar Land, TX. Ushers were Mr. Adam Braaten of Missouri City, TX and Mr. Eric Heidt of Sugar Land, TX.

Christina is a 2002 graduate of Clements High School in Sugar Land and received a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Education from Texas Christian University where she was a member of Kappa Delta Pi. She is a Middle School English Teacher at Hancock Middle School, Kiln, MS. Coby is a 2000 graduate of Early High School in Early, TX. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas Christian University where he was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma. He is employed as Vice President of B&C Construction and Equipment, LLC in Diamondhead, MS.

Following a honeymoon cruise in the southern Caribbean, the couple now makes their home in Diamondhead, MS.
