Miss Sarah Lynn Cushenberry and Mr. Michael John Parkinson were united in marriage on Saturday, September 22, 2007, at five o’clock in the afternoon at First Protestant Church in
New Braunfels, Texas. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Reverend Tim Judkins with music provided by organist Dr. Joey Martin and duet vocals by Debbie Huffman, aunt of the bride, and Ryan Huffman, cousin of the bride.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted an outside reception on the Guadalupe River at the Hideout on the Horseshoe. The bride’s parents rented the resort for the weekend for family members and the wedding party to stay. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents
hosted a rehearsal dinner in the Pavilion at the resort.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bell Cushenberry of Missouri City, Texas. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sydnor Cushenberry of Savannah, Georgia and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gene Lemon Huffman of Lake Jackson, Texas. The groom is the son of
Ms. Valerie Parkinson of Plano, Texas and Mr. Ricky Parkinson of Lubbock, Texas. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Parkinson of Lubbock, Texasand the Mrs. Gloria Hyslop and the late Mr. Gordon Hyslop of Lubbock, Texas.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a couture Amalia Carrera gown by Eve Of Milady. The off the shoulder silk gown with its sweetheart neckline featured a chapel length train. The bodice of the gown was adorned with Swarovski crystal and
pearls. To complement her gown the bride wore a finger tip length hand beaded with Swarovski crystal illusion veil and carried a hand-tied bouquet of red intuition roses & stephanotis.
Mrs. Gayle Cushenberry of Needville, Texas served as Matron of Honor, and Ms. Cristin Hogan of Houston, Texas as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Ms. Kristi Keith of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Jamie Mc Govern of Lake Jackson, Texas, Ms. Katy Grimes of Plano, Texas, Mrs. Lucero Smith
ofIrvine, California, Ms. Sarah McMahon of Aspen, Colorado, Jr. Bridesmaid was Miss Jacqui Smith of Littleton Colorado.
Serving as the flower girl was Miss Jillian Jones of Lubbock, Texas.
Mr. Stephen Parkinson of Lubbock, Texas served as Best Man. Groomsmen Mr. TJ Chambers of Houston Texas, Mr. Ryan Crumpler of WashingtonDC, Mr. Adrian Cortez of Austin, Texas, Mr. Keith Dixon, Mr. Kale Garretson, Mr. Mathew Holmes, Mr. Jay Ratcliff, all of Lubbock, Texas.
Serving as ring bearer was Mr. Kadin McGovern of Lake Jackson, Texas.
The bride is a graduate of Elkins High School and Texas Tech University where she earned a Bachelor Degree in Marketing.
The groom is a graduate of Monterey High School of Lubbock, Texas and Texas Tech University where he received a Masters in Occupational Therapy.
Following their honeymoon cruise to the Hawaiian Islands, the couple will reside in their new home in Sugar Land, Texas.
