Queen Theatre announced dates for their inaugural production. The group will debut the swashbuckling family favorite Treasure Island on September 30.
The first-ever full-scale production by Queen Theatre will also showcase the re-vamped Sugar Land Auditorium, which will complete renovations just one day before the curtain goes up on the Treasure Island premiere.
“When we founded Queen Theatre last year, we did so with the mission of enriching the community with thought-provoking performances,” said Executive Director Erika Waldorf. “Our production of Treasure Island, which brings to life iconic characters like Jim Hawkins and Long John Silver with humor, action, danger, and even a touch of romance, has something for everyone. Local theatre is such a wonderful way to expose children to the performing arts, and we feel very privileged to christen the newly renovated Sugar Land Auditorium.”
Treasure Island will run from September 30 through October 9. Performances will be held on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., with matinees at 3 p.m. on Sundays. Visit www.queentheatre.org for ticketing information.
Fort Bend arts lovers should also mark their calendars for Little Women, The Broadway Musical, December 2nd through the 18th. Based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott.
