In a recent update on the ever improving health of Justice of the Peace (JP) Jim Richard, his chronicler, Sue Hauenstein imparted a tidbit that could not go unchecked. She wrote, “Jim and Laura are overwhelmed by the love and support they have received from people near and far. They truly love Fort Bend County and the support and prayers they have received from their friends and colleagues is humbling!”
She adds, “Jim has been feeling so much better since the chemo and radiation treatments concluded. His auctioneering commitments have picked up and even his 6 year old daughter has commented on the number of weddings that daddy performs. All of the kids are relieved that he’s not as grumpy any more. Yes, re-read that …again…umm, hum, you read it correctly! Right there in black and white it reads – wedding and auction in the same sentence! WHAT!?!
Talk about opportunity knocking!!! Auctions and weddings, oh what possibilities, what to do, what to do? Do you auction off the groom? Nah, might be a hard sell and equally as tough to raise enough money to make that profitable. Auctioning off the Bride? Although it could have some merit if she’s a Bridezilla , just seems tacky and a throwback to something we have long fought to overcome….but – Auctioning off the mother-in-law! Now there folks is a P-L-A-N!!!!
Ol’ Judge Jim will have to buy a dump truck to haul all his money to the bank! Heck, if this catches on, Fort Bend County will have a line of folks fight’n to sign up to run for JP; after they get their auctioneer’s license and all.
Hauenstein goes on to say his kids have noted that he is not as tired and grumpy as he was …. So there ya go, here is a man with burgeoning opportunity during his tough recovery who is bumping all over a Snow White story. Opportunity has knocked, He already has his Princess, and he is buddies with Grumpy, Sleepy, Doc, Dopey, Bashful and with his recovery… Happy, who is bouncing all over the place. The ol auctioneering -wed’n judge just needs to find Sneezy and poof! All will be well in Richardville.
Please continue to keep the Richard family in your thoughts and prayers as he traverses the road to recovery.
