African American read-in at to be held at library February 23

February 13, 2013 by FortBendStar

In recognition of African American History Month, Fort Bend County Libraries’ Missouri City Branch Library will present an African American Read-In on Saturday, February 23, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 1530 Texas Parkway.

Read aloud from your favorite works that were written or spoken by African Americans. Books for the readings will be provided by the library if you do not have your own copy to bring. Each reader will have a 5-minute time limit. Refreshments and coffee will be provided.

Books and other materials by or about African Americans will be on display throughout the month of February.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the branch library at 281-238-2100.
